About the Pharmacy Pre-Professional Program

Pharmacists dispense drugs prescribed by physicians and other health practitioners and provide information to patients about medications and their use. They must understand the use, composition, and effects of drugs in order to prepare prescriptions, ensure correct doses, and prevent harmful interactions. A pharmacist may also create personalized medications and conduct research. The American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) offers more information.
A minimum of 64 credit hours are required for admission to the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Pharmacy. Students applying to other pharmacy schools should check their admissions requirements. Since many students entering pharmacy schools have a baccalaureate degree, 体育菠菜大平台 students are expected to choose a major and work towards a baccalaureate degree concurrently with the pre-pharmacy program.

Admission includes GPA, test scores, recommendation letters, interviews, shadowing, and other extra-curricular activities (some schools require the PCAT).
